Depop Fee Calculator
Depop no longer charges its famous 10% selling fee for US, UK and Australian sellers. What remains is payment processing — 3.3% + $0.45 in the US, 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK, charged on item plus shipping — and, only if you opt in, a 12% Boosted Listings fee. Enter your price and this calculator itemizes both and shows your net payout, plus the separate Marketplace fee your buyer pays at checkout. Rates verified August 2026.

What Depop actually charges now
For years "Depop fees" meant one number: 10% of every sale. That era is over — Depop removed its selling fee for US sellers in July 2024, joining the UK where it had already gone, and the 10% now applies only to sellers outside the UK, US and Australia. What a domestic seller pays today is payment processing through Depop Payments: 3.3% plus $0.45 per order in the US, 2.9% plus £0.30 in the UK, charged on the whole transaction — item price plus shipping plus any tax collected.
The economics moved to the buyer's side at the same time: every UK and US purchase now carries a Marketplace fee of up to 5% of the item price plus a fixed part of up to $1 or £1, shown exactly at checkout and refunded if the order is refunded. On a $50 item that's at most $3.50 — money that never passes through your account but that your buyer absolutely factors into whether your price feels fair against the listing next to yours.
Worked example: the $50 sale
A US seller moves an item at $50 with $5 shipping. Processing is 3.3% of $55 plus $0.45: $2.27. Net payout: $52.73 — an effective 4.1% against the $55 the buyer paid you directly. The same sale in the UK at £50 plus £5 runs 2.9% of £55 plus £0.30 = £1.90, netting £53.10, an effective 3.5%. Compare that with the pre-2024 world, where the same US sale surrendered $5.50 of selling fee before processing — the shake-up roughly tripled sellers' take of the fee pie.
Boosting changes the picture sharply. A Boosted Listing pays an extra 12% of item plus shipping when it sells — for listings created since 23 March 2026, up from the 8% that applied before. Boost the $50 example and $6.60 comes off, dropping the net to $46.13 and the effective rate to 15.9% — worse than old-Depop's flat 10%. Boosting is a bid for placement, not a tax, so the question is whether the boost sells items that wouldn't otherwise sell; the calculator's checkbox puts the boosted and organic numbers side by side so the answer is visible before you opt in.
Pricing against the buyer's total
Because part of Depop's economics rides on the buyer side, your competitive price is not your asking price — it's your asking price plus up to 5% and a fixed part, as the checkout shows it to the buyer. Two $40 listings can land differently at checkout depending on how each seller structured price versus shipping, and buyers comparison-shop the total. If your item is at the low end where the fixed parts bite hardest, a fractionally lower asking price can beat a rival by more than it costs you.
Shipping strategy is the other half. Processing is charged on item plus shipping, so folding postage into a "free shipping" price changes nothing about Depop's take — the base is the same either way — but it does change how the Marketplace fee reads to the buyer, since that fee's percentage part applies to the item price. Pricing $45-with-free-shipping versus $40-plus-$5-shipping yields identical processing for you but a slightly higher buyer-side fee on the first structure. Small, but on thin-margin flips the arithmetic is worth one look, and it's exactly the comparison the calculator makes trivial.
Edge cases and limits
Sales tax rides through the processing base: where Depop collects tax on a US order, the 3.3% + $0.45 applies to the tax-inclusive total, so taxed orders run slightly above the tax-free figures here — the tax itself is remitted, not kept. Sellers outside the UK, US and Australia still pay the old 10% selling fee on item price plus non-label shipping, with PayPal's processing on top; this calculator models the domestic regimes. Payouts via Depop Payments carry no further deduction.
The moving parts to watch are the boost rate and the buyer fee. The boost's move from 8% to 12% for new listings in March 2026 is recent enough that older fee guides still quote 8% — check the rate shown when you enable boosting, since listings created before the change keep their old rate. The buyer Marketplace fee is stated by Depop as "up to" its caps and shown exactly only at checkout, which is why this page reports the maximum rather than pretending to an exact figure. Everything here was read from Depop's official help pages on the stamped date; those pages win any disagreement.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Depop take from a sale?
For US, UK and Australian sellers: only payment processing — 3.3% + $0.45 per order in the US, 2.9% + £0.30 in the UK, on item plus shipping. That's an effective 3.5–4.5% on typical orders, not the 10% many guides still quote: Depop abolished its selling fee for US sellers in July 2024. Add 12% only if you chose to boost the listing. Sellers outside those three countries still pay the classic 10% plus PayPal processing.
Is the Depop 10% fee gone?
For UK, US and Australian sellers, yes — the 10% selling fee was removed (US: 18 July 2024), and Depop shifted its economics to a buyer-paid Marketplace fee of up to 5% plus up to $1/£1 per purchase. The 10% survives only for sellers outside those countries. If a fee guide you're reading still shows 10% for a US or UK seller, it predates the change — which is precisely why this page carries a verification date.
What is the Depop boosted listing fee?
An optional 12% of item price plus shipping, charged only when a boosted listing actually sells — for listings created on or after 23 March 2026; older listings keep the 8% rate that applied when they were boosted. Boosting buys placement in search and browse. Whether it pays depends on whether the item would have sold anyway: on the calculator's $50 example, boosting turns a $52.73 net into $46.13, so the boost needs to be the difference between selling and not selling to earn its 12%.
What is the Marketplace fee my buyer paid?
Since 2024, every UK and US Depop purchase carries a buyer-side Marketplace fee of up to 5% of the item price plus a fixed part of up to $1 or £1, shown exactly at checkout, charged once per bundle, and refunded if the order refunds. It never touches your payout — but it raises the total your buyer compares against other listings, so it belongs in your pricing thinking: your $50 item is up to $53.50 in the buyer's eyes before shipping.
Are these Depop's current fees?
They were read from Depop's official help-center pages on the verification date stamped in the results — August 2026 — including the July 2024 US selling-fee removal and the March 2026 boost increase to 12%. Fee guides age badly in this market: within two years Depop deleted its headline fee, added a buyer fee, and raised the boost rate half again. If Depop's help pages and this calculator ever disagree, the help pages are the authority — and we re-verify on a schedule precisely because they change.
